Proudly a Multi-Generational Family Business


Kirk’s Radiator & Auto Air Conditioning has been a trusted name in auto repair for over 75 years. Founded by Leonard "Kirk" Newkirk in 1948, our shop has grown from a small radiator repair business into a full-service auto air conditioning, cooling system, and exhaust repair shop in El Cajon, CA. Kirk, a WWII Navy veteran, learned the radiator trade from his uncle in downtown San Diego before establishing his radiator repair shop in El Cajon, CA. His dedication to quality and service laid the foundation for a business that continues to thrive today.

Our family legacy continues with Kirk’s son, Stan Newkirk, and grandson, Ryan Newkirk, now leading the business. Stan began working in the shop as a teenager in the 1960s, and Ryan followed in his footsteps in the late 1990s. Our hobbies include off-roading in Jeeps and side-by-sides, boating, fishing, and traveling across our beautiful country in our RV.


Our Specialty: A/C, Radiators, and Exhaust


We service most makes and models, including custom builds, heavy-duty vehicles, and industrial equipment. Our auto repair shop has specialized tools, including five air conditioning charging machines, an exhaust tubing bender, multiple welders, and three lifts.

Trusted by the community, we proudly provide repair services for school districts, fire departments, border patrol, EDCO trash, CalTrans, CDF, and the County of San Diego, as well as the cities of El Cajon, Santee, and La Mesa. Our expertise in custom and performance exhaust work has made us the go-to shop for exotic and custom vehicles requiring specialized radiator and air conditioning systems.
